Jon Havelock, Q.C.
Jon brings a wealth of experience at municipal and provincial levels of government, and in senior executive roles in the private sector, to SRI. He served in two Alberta Cabinet portfolios as Minister of Justice and Attorney General and Minister of Economic Development and was both Government and Deputy-Government House Leader. Jon has spoken extensively on public policy matters in Alberta, Asia, Europe and the United States. He holds a B. Comm. (Honours) from the University of Alberta and a B.A. (Law) and M.A. from Downing College, the University of Cambridge, England. Jon has also completed course work in mediation and arbitration.

Peter was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as a member of the Official Opposition after a distinguished career with the Alberta Government. Serving as Co-Critic for Finance, he developed the first draft of the Loan Guarantee Restriction Act, which was adopted as a Government Bill and passed into law by the Legislative Assembly. After leaving elected office, Peter accepted a position as Senior Consultant with Canada’s largest Government Policy Consulting firm. There he managed key natural resource, technology and health sector accounts and initiated and led the firm’s procurement practice in Alberta. Peter has a B.A. – Specialization in Economics – and has completed advanced coursework in Graduate Studies.
